Enhancing the Lives of Children and Their Families
It is much more than a slogan to say that children are our future - that children attending quality schools mean a skilled workforce and a prosperous community. However, if children come to school unprepared, they are likely to fail and, ultimately, the community is likely to fail. Our goal is to promote healthy development of children and their families in our target communities of western Michigan - particularly children under the age of six from disadvantaged populations - so that far more children begin kindergarten ready to succeed.
Our grantmaking priorities include:
- Leveraging community systems that ensure school success
- Improving parenting skills
- Ensuring available quality child care
- Maximizing universal access to pre-school programs
